When we are in confined areas, we tend to box ourselves into believing we cannot go out. Means “we cannot move around”. Except when for medical reasons, people are in isolation or confined to a bed, we should imagine we are confined to an aeroplane or ship…. yet there is a lot that can be done, and a few tips include;

  1. Move around your room, by cleaning and arranging items you have previously had no time to touch.

  2. Do some ‘spring cleaner” …used the opportunity to de-clutter your wardrobe, kitchen, store and those of you who have gardens, start to do some planting too!!

  1. Go up and down the stairs as a form of exercise, do not send the children as often as you are strong enough….”do it yourself a bit more… get the children to do the same, to reduce “Couch Potatoes” around the house! Remember this is just a phase. If there are no stairs, simply get a simple exercise routine you can follow from your friend (or even over the internet). Just keep it simple and remember the fun side (no injuries please).

  1. Eat smaller and healthier portions of food, as the reality is …you’re at home in your comfort zone and nobody except yourself can put on the controls here. We will also have less to burn off.

This is the time when we must work together as an on-line community to make things work. We look forward to you sharing with all of us on the FirstGem website, how staying at home during this ‘lockdown’’ has impacted your family! We look forward to learning from our community, so we can all come out stronger!!
