Being a mother is a thing of Joy and it also comes with great responsibility which must be met.

As a mother, it’s always a top priority to keep your home happy.

Having children and becoming a mother is always a milestone in the lives of most women.

Interestingly, when women become mothers there is no handbook for raising your special bundles of joy.

So as women, we lean on each other to share tips on ‘mothering our children’.

To be a great MUM, there are some suggestions to guide us all along this lifelong journey of mothering in one way or the other, ensuring we have the physical and mental abilities to forge ahead!!

A ‘great Mum’…….

  1. Loves her child (ren) unconditionally.

  2. Teaches her child (ren) how to live life to the fullest.

  3. Will be there for her children when they need her.

  4. Teaches her child (ren) the importance of self-worth.

  5. Provides food, shelter and love.

  6. Works at being a good example to her children

  7. Makes time to have fun with her kids.

  8. Allows room for her children to make mistakes and learn from them.

  9. Teaches her child (ren) how to love unconditionally.

  10. Never hurts her child (ren).

  11. Always does what is best for her child (ren).

  18.  Feels fulfilled when she is with her child(ren).

  19. Shouldn’t feel bored spending time with her child (ren).

  20. Feels happy and overjoyed every time she looks at her child (ren).

  21. Does not dwell about how ‘enjoyable’ her life was before kids.

  22. Would be able to handle kids all day without needing breaks (luxury).

  23. Wouldn’t feel unhappy at night when up with her child.

Remember no 2 children are ever the same (not even identical twins) and the role of ‘mothering’ our children  in society at large is indeed a journey and not a destination.

‘Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride of mothering’!!
